Roche UAE strong presence in the 13th Congress of the Middle East Society of Organ Transplantation

Roche UAE joined the 13th Congress of the Middle East Society of Organ Transplantation (MESOT), which was held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on 12-15th December. The topic for this year’s congress was Ethical Organ Donation, which is of high importance and relevance to the region.

The 13th MESOT Congress brought exciting scientific program, high profile speakers, where Roche UAE made a significant contribution to it. The company became not only the platinum sponsor of the event but also invited 3 top guest speakers from Germany and Kuwait.

Two scientific Roche satellite symposiums were organized during the annual congress with high attendance of KOLs from all over the region. Presentation on “Optimizing post-transplant CMV disease prophylaxis” was delivered by invited speakers Dr. Torki Al Otaibi, Transplant Nephrology Hamed Al-Essa Organ Transplant Center in Kuwait and Prof. Dr. Ingeborg A. Hauser, Head of Renal Transplant Unit, Department of Nephrology Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany.

The second day of the congress featured a lecture titled “Managing CKD associated anemia: Implications for clinical practice”, which was presented by Professor Dr. Stefan Heidenreich, Professor of Nephrology, Faculty of Medicine, RWTH Aachen University Head of Nephrology department, KfH Renal Center in Aachen, Germany.

The congress was opened by HH Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, United Arab Emirates Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Roche UAE welcomed over 200 colleagues and KOLs from the UAE Management Center. The overall number of MESOT participants reached up to 1300. By the end of the congress, special thanks and the trophy of appreciation was handled to Roche by the Middle East Society for Organ Transplantation for support and participation.
